I made this painting based on a photograph I took in Salvador da Bahia, in the historical neighborhood of Pelourinho. The 17th-century colonial Portuguese architecture is particularly colorful in this area, reflecting the mix of African and European cultures characteristic of this vibrant Brazilian city.
